100 pages

100 pages into the Song of Ice and Fire Game of Thrones book and well this is what Iwpid-wp-1426675681462.jpg can say. It is a good book, not great, just good.
The language is what makes it good but the story is what keeps it there. Who knows my opinion may change as I read more of the book. I plan to finish it in under a week and I shall see. One thing that I do like about it is the tone. There is this foreboding tone that everyone is going to die at any moment and that is why they behave as they do. There is no future planning except that of the man who knows he is going to die and has nothing to lose anymore.
What keeps it at just good for me is that the story reads like a dime store soap opera, and yes I know that history teaches that the courts of the kings and such were rife with this sort of behavior, there is something missing so far. There is no majesty in the story. There is no greatness in it. As far as I can tell, the book is considered great because it is a big dam book. I will let you all know something else in the next hundred pages.

    1. Like I said in my first post about this. The TV show turned me off and I never read the books. Now that I am reading it I can see that it is not the TV show but the story. It is just blah… If that makes any sense.
