Oh my Feminist

I am all for equal rights. And if you read my books you will see that the protagonist in most of my books is a strong female character or at least there is one strong female character. But and this is a big but, not at the discrimination of males.
Modern feminist just want to discriminate against men and are blind to that stupidity. Equality has to be equal to both.

600 pages in

This has become a battle and not a joy to read. The last hundred pages I thought, seriously thought that I would be wpid-wp-1426675681462.jpgable to enjoy the book and get into the whole series. Hey maybe even give it a good review. Then after the predictable, not even exciting way that Eddard was undone was just followed by nothing more than soap opera crap. I mean I have seen better drama on Days of Our lives. At least during that time I was a child and not, well not mature enough to see the silly story lines unfold five, ten, even fifty pages before I even manage to get to said scene.
This is not to diminish the quality of the read you may have had. But for me if I am to enjoy this novel’s end then I will need something more than played out story lines built from soap operas and what appears to be B rated movies.
Let’s see what is happening in the next part of the book.

Interview Reader of Love

As many of you know from my posts here and there about my novel Love. I recently was given the chance to talk BookCoverImagewith a friend who had read the book from cover to cover, what comes next is the full interview transcribed. There will be spoilers across the interview but not as much as to ruin the story for you. But again some people hate spoilers.

Before I get into the interview I must mention a few things as they may come up as you read it. Dean, my friend who took the time to let me interview him about my book is not a romance novel reader. He is into Fantasy and stuff like Sandman.  That being said he is also the one that is getting me to read Game of Thrones.  So when I asked him to read my work I was not surprised to find that it would take him a bit of time to read it by his own confession he is a slow reader.

So if you are ready the Interview is what follows.

Oh my Japan personal

Recieving such a big boost to people wanting to share just how wrong it is to discriminate I wanted to share some personal thoughts. While the story of Ariana Miyamoto :

(宮本 エリアナ 磨美子, Miyamoto Eriana Mamiko, born 12 May 1994 in Sasebo, Nagasaki) is a Japanese beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Japan 2015.

And Hakuho Sho the sumo wrestler that will never be considered champion got me thinking seriously. So why am I repeating myself, well there is a simple and solid reason for it. What I want to say is hard to talk about just as any  trauma is. I am not a stranger to racism in Japan or in the USA.

In the USA I had a math teacher who used to say that I was born in the gutter and that is as far as I will ever go. A sadistic man who clearly thought that Mexicans did not deserve a spot in the USA. To the point that he would not teach us completely in class.

And just two years ago I had attended a Japanese drinking party and if you have worked in Japan ever you will know that Japanese companies have drinking parties. I was talking with some co-workers, let me stress co-workers as they were no where near friends. Well we got into talking about my tattoos. And if anyone knows there is an old taboo in Japan about tattoos though if you search the history enough you will see that ancient Japan used to have tattoos. And the negative conotation was brought over from China and how they used tattooing.
Well we were talking about tattoos when the subject of what the perception of them were in Japan over what they actually stood for. With a heated conversation the truth came out. And if you know human psycology in the slightest you will know that acohol and anger will bring about someone’s true nature. For me it was being told that I should not become a Japanese citizen because Japanese people will never accept someone such as myself.

The shocking thing is that while I was in tears at the attempted shattering of my dream the other co-workers told me to calm down and that it was ok. Not a single one told him that the bigoted words he had used against me were wrong. So I am ashamed that in Japan people are not told that this kind of thinking is wrong. Yes in school they teach children about Martin Luther King Jr. But they do not truly see the lesson as pertinent to Japan because Japanese are not seen and do not see themselves as racist when in fact the words that are not seen as wrong are clear as racist in the USA.

I stand by my words, wrong is wrong and discrimination, bigotry, and hatred is wrong.

500 words in

wpid-wp-1426675681462.jpgSo I am past the halfway point. I must say that I thought I would never get here and for the most part I wonder why it took so long. Yes I can understand setting up a story should take some time. But as I read the first part of this book I found that there was very little that I like.
I am reminded of what my friend told me when he was reading the first book in my fantasy series. I do not mention more about them as I am waiting to get my rights back from a publisher who aparantly is not doing much with them. That being said. Why did it take so long for the story to be started.

I finally am starting to get an interest in the story as I feel that everything is clear and understood even more than I thought before. Yes I saw a lot of it coming and it could just be the joy of , about fucking time that he got to the point of it all. And his writing leaves a lot to be desired, it surely is not the tale of the Lance. And it is not something that can be told in a sitting. But I give pause to wonder if he did not plan from the beginning to write an epic, a Ulysses in his own right.

Could this book be that? Well I wonder now. I have come to the feeling that I will want to read the whole series now. But I am on the line. If after I finish this book I start book two and he reverts back to taking 500 words to get the story going then I will simply put it down and say the hell with him. Because the story is started the tale is set he should not need another 500 words to retell or reset the story in the books to come. Unless he is just naturally long winded. We shall see.
